Hello darlings! Today I bring you my opinion about the Double Wear Stay-in-Place SPF 10 makeup base from Estée Lauder. It is a long-lasting foundation foundation with sun protection factor 10.
I decided to try it because it is one of the most famous makeup bases and one of the best sellers globally.
My beloved MAC Studio Fix base was in its final swings, so I needed a new one. My requirements? That had SPF, high coverage and suitable for combination / oily skin.
Description of Estée Lauder’s Double Wear SPF 10 foundation.
This foundation is the most covered Estée Lauder, within its range of foundations. The Estée Lauder Double Wear Teint Longue Tenue Non-transferable is a high-coverage liquid base. This product is also manufactured in a version without sunscreen.
- Finish: matt, semi-matte.
- Coverage: Medium-high.
- Tone: The tone I have acquired is the 2W1 Dawn.
I had a hard time deciding because they have many shades, but the clerk tried several in the area of my jaw (to get the real color) and we stayed with that one.
This foundation is available in 38 shades, divided between Light, Medium and Deep. As a curiosity, the best-selling tone of Double Wear is the 3w1 tawny.

I tell you my opinion about this product applied to my skin type, which is combination-oily.
Application
It comes without dispenser, so you need to either buy it separately or pour the liquid into another container, which is what I did the first days after purchasing the product, when I didn´t own the dispenser yet.
I use it with a brush better than with makeup sponge. The reason is that being a very liquid base the sponge absorbs it immediately and there is hardly any product left. Better with brush!
I use this foundation after my usual serum and day cream treatment. Next, I apply a touch of powdered makeup on forehead, nose and chin. After that I continue with the finishing products: bronzer, blusher and illuminator.
How much comes in the bottle?
Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place SPF 10 Foundation comes in a 30ml bottle, so at around €30 on average, the price for 1ml is €1.
Color and tone
The tone fits perfectly with my skin tone. The tone they tested on my chin area fits perfectly with my actual skin tone.
Duration and coverage
It has a fairly high coverage, which you know is what I always look for in makeup bases. If I want something lighter I can always use less product.
The density of the product is quite liquid and you work well when applying the product in layers.
The effect on my oily skin is quite pleasant, as it does not produce shine. It also doesn’t feel oily.
As I say, it is rather liquid, so it has a breathable and light texture. However, it is not a specific foundation for oily skin. It is supposed to be for all skin types, including dry or combination skin.
Overall rating
Good value for money, but I would like it to come with dispenser. Especially for the fact that it is quite liquid and misapplied.
I like that it has SPF. It is something that seems basic to me not for aesthetics but for skin care. Although they also sell it in a version without sunscreen. It is only SPF 10, but it´s better than nothing.
You know that I am a fan of sunscreen as the main method to combat premature aging of the skin.
