In today’s post, darlings, we review a very trendy product. I tell you my opinion about CeraVe’s foaming cleansing gel for normal and oily skin.

Product Description

  • Product Type: Gel Cleanser
  • Morning or evening routine: Both
  • Skin type: Combination, Oily and Acne
  • Objective: To clean the skin of the face or remove traces of make-up removal
  • Main ingredients: Hyaluronic acid and ceramides

According to the brand, this foamy cleansing gel is designed to create a gentle lather that cleanses the face without disturbing the skin’s natural barrier. To make it, this CeraVe cleaner has a pH 5.7 ± 0.3.

Human skin has a pH that has been accounted for between 5.3 and 5.9. Maintaining a balanced pH in gels and soaps is important to keep unwanted bacteria and micro-organisms at bay.

CeraVe has three gel cleaners. First of all this, the foamy cleansing gel for combination and oily skin.

Secondly, there is the facial cleanser with salicylic acid, which is the anti-roughness cleanser.

And finally CeraVe has a third version, which is the cleanser for normal dry skin.

CeraVe Foamy Cleansing Gel: How to Use

I use this cleansing gel during my morning and evening routine. In the mornings, I use it as the first product of all my routine. I simply apply, mix with water and massage on the face until it foams. Then rinse and start applying the rest of cosmetics.

As you know, the first thing I do is use a tonic to prepare the skin. Then I apply the eye contour. I follow the facial serum, which I spread throughout the face except the eye area. And finally, I apply my day moisturiser. I always choose that my day creams contain SPF, so that whether I wear makeup or not, my skin is always protected.

The products, as you know, I vary, but the steps of my facial routine have always been religiously followed for years. That is, I always use first a tonic (whatever it is at any time), then an outline, a serum, etc.

How many times can this CeraVe cleansing gel be used per day? As many as you want. Of course, it is not advisable to wash the face more than twice a day. By doing so we would break the skin’s natural protective barrier.

At night I use this gel after having removed makeup from my eyes and face. I am currently using Lancôme’s eye makeup remover and Clinique Take The Day Off cleansing oil. As both makeup removers are in oil, I like to use some type of soap afterwards to remove the feeling of grease or makeup residue that may remain.

My review of CeraVe’s foamy cleansing gel for normal and oily skin

To begin with, I tell you that my skin is mixed, with first signs of aging (I am 32 years old), I am a woman, and I do not have acne problems.

In my opinion, this gel is gentle enough to use both day and night.

One of the things that caught my attention is that, although it is called foamy gel, it does not make much foam.

The texture is very light, the liquid is transparent in color and completely odorless of any kind. I do not apply it directly to the eyes, but if I get a little product it does not cause irritation. It’s much softer than I expected.

This CeraVe cleanser compared to others, such as Bioderma, I notice it much softer. I wonder how effective it will be for really oily skin. When using it I notice that it does not leave my skin completely tight, as it happens with other gels.

One of the benefits of this foaming cleansing gel from CeraVe is that it is also suitable for use for the body. And for the price it has, nothing happens to use a greater amount of product. I like this because if necessary, I can take a single travel product and I can use it for both the face and the body. Or, for example, if I don’t want to carry a lot of products in my gym backpack.

In general I find it a fairly mild gel, considering that it is for oily and combination skin. It fulfills its function and does not give me any kind of reaction. But, as I say, I do not know to what extent it works for younger skin or real problems of grease or shine on the face.

Anyway, I hope that my opinion about CeraVe’s foamy cleansing gel has helped you a little to decide if you are considering buying the product.
