My review of Olaplex No. 4 Shampoo

Opinión sobre el Champú No. 4 de Olaplex

Finally! I have already tried the Bond Maintenance Shampoo, the No. 4 Olaplex Shampoo and share my review today. Who hasn’t heard of Olaplex yet? I doubt there is anyone out there. But if you still do not know what I am talking about, I will tell you that the range of Olaplex hair products has gone viral in recent months as a method to recover damaged hair. And of course… Here you have my review of the product.

What is Olaplex 4?

Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo is the fourth step of the Olaplex program. This shampoo repairs the ends while gently cleansing the hair.

This is a shampoo whose objective is to repair damaged hair. Either by bleaching, dyes, or excessive use of heat tools. Or simply if you have a very long hair that you do not cut often and try to save the ends. Although in this case, you will not need the rest of the steps.

In this article is the review of the Olaplex conditioner in case you are interested.

Olaplex Nº.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo

  • Olaplex is the leading hair care brand known for revitalizing color-treated and chemically damaged hair.
  • Olaplex No. 4 and No. 5 are non-toxic and contain no sulfates, parabens, gluten or nuts, are vegan and color safe.
  • Suitable for all hair types.

This shampoo is used in conjunction with the following Olaplex products. Although of course this does not mean that you can not use it separately:

Full range of Olaplex products:

  • Olaplex 0 – Nº0 Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment – Tratamiento Capilar Intensivo
  • Olaplex 1 – Nº1 Bond Multiplier – Salon treatment (coloring additive)
  • Olaplex 2 – Nº2 Bond Perfector – Salon treatment (post-coloration repair)
  • Olaplex 3 – Nº3 Hair Perfector – Hair Cream
  • Olaplex 5 – Nº5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner – Acondicionador de Mantenimiento
  • Olaplex 6 – Nº6 Bond Smoother – Styling Serum
  • Olaplex 7 – Nº7 Bonding Oil – Hair Oil
  • Olaplex 8 – Nº8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask – Intensive and Repairing Moisturizing Mask

Which Olaplex step is best?

Each step of the Olaplex ritual serves a certain function, so it is difficult to say that one is better than another. For example, if you want to restructure the fiber, it is better to start with the mask. If you bleach your hair, try the salon treatment (numbers 1 and 2).

In short, each product is designed to be used in conjunction with the rest of the products, so it is difficult to say that one is better than another.

In any case, in this post I talk about my review about Olaplex Shampoo No. 4. I have also bought other products, so I will make the corresponding reviews.

What does Olaplex do in hair?

What Olaplex shampoo does on hair is repair disulfide bonds while cleaning hair.

According to the brand, it incorporates a technology called Bond Maintenance Shampoo 4 that serves for the reconstruction of capillary bridges.

Restores the strength and flexibility of the hair. It provides hydration and shine to hair that has been subjected to coloring or bleaching.

Olaplex shampoo is free of parabens, sulfates, gluten and is color friendly. In addition, it is a vegan and cruelty free cosmetic.

How to apply Olaplex shampoo?

Olaplex n4 Shampoo is applied just like any other shampoo. There are people who are hesitant about how to use it because there are other Olaplex products that are to be used with wet hair. But they’re not really even shampoos. And so many steps and so many products, it can be a little confusing!

This Shampoo n4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo I apply it on wet hair, massage and rinse. Repeat a second time, as with any other and shampoo, and then rinse again until clean.

My review of Olaplex No. 4 Shampoo

Sometimes I think I don’t like to speak well of the products I try because I might seem too easy to please. But when something is true, it must be said. And in this case, in my opinion, Olaplex No. 4 Shampoo has far exceeded all my expectations.

I’ll just say that after using this shampoo my hair didn’t look like my hair. From the first use.

To give some context on my hair, I have been using mainly sulfate-free shampoos for a year now. Since I started using extensions to be exact. Because you’re supposed to use only sulfate-free products. What happens with this type of products is that they are very delicate with the hair, but they also leave it a little frizzy. Why? Because they do not use plastics to wrap the hair, but leave it in its natural state, so to speak.

In addition to this, I wear highlights, with which I have quite damaged hair. In this post I tell you, by the way, how I managed to recover my hair burned by bleaching.

Well, that’s how I used to notice my hair after each wash. A price I was willing to pay in exchange for healthier hair and scalp.

But after using Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo my hair didn’t look like my hair! For starters, it was very easy to comb, no tangling. Great for my extensions. And then, when I started to dry it, I noticed it as soft as if I had used a iron on it. It felt like it was someone else’s hair…

Anyway, now I understand why everyone is crazy with Olaplex shampoo. The truth is that it is expensive, but it is worth it.

Olaplex Shampoo Price

And speaking of expensive, now I tell you where they sell Olaplex Shampoo No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo and its price.

The easiest thing, especially in small towns, is to find it for sale online. Below I leave links to the three main stores where I have found it.

The price is around € 26, but better check each website to see if they have any promotion. And of course, look closely at the shipping costs, because sometimes they put a lower price than normal and then compensate for it in shipping.

I hope this article with my review about Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo has helped you. In this other post I talk about the best home treatments for hair damaged by bleaching. In case what you want is to use more natural products.

Also in his day I made a post about the best products for hair with bleaching. I’d have to update it, but I’m talking about L’Oréal Professionnel shampoos that I love too.

I’m not always so lucky when I try a new product, especially for hair, so I’m very happy with the result of Olaplex 4.

See you in social media!

Lots of love,
