Recently I told you about my terrible experience with the famous Unicorn Essence series by Fársali. Well, today I share with you my opinion about another viral product: my review of the Advanced Night Repair Serum of Estée Lauder. In case it doesn’t ring a bell, this is an Estée Lauder night serum that although it is not precisely cheap, has very good reviews.
What is Estee Lauder Night Repair serum good for?
According to the official product description, Advanced Night Repair serum stimulates and accelerates the skin’s natural night repair and purification processes thanks to the exclusive Chronolux™ technology.
Advanced Night Repair promises a soft, hydrated and resistant skin to the aggressions of the environment. Among its ingredients is super moisturizing hyaluronic acid and algae and yeast extract.
This means that the Estée Lauder Night Repair serum is best recommended for aging skin. But I would personnally say it can be used from the first signs of aging, for 25 year olds plus.
The full list of ingredients is as follows. I found it only on the Sephora website, because there was no information on the Estée Lauder website:
WaterAquaEau, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Methyl Gluceth-20, Peg-75, Bis-Peg-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Butylene Glycol, Propanediol, Cola Acuminata (Kola) Seed Extract, Hydrolyzed Algin, Pantethine, Caffeine, Lecithin, Tripeptide-32, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Rna, Bisabolol, Glycereth-26, Squalane, Sodium Hyaluronate, Oleth-3 Phosphate, Caprylyl Glycol, Lactobacillus Ferment, Oleth-3, Oleth-5, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile), Yeast ExtractFaexExtrait De Levure, Choleth-24, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ceteth-24, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Hexylene Glycol, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Trisodium Edta, Bht, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Red 4 (Ci 14700), Yellow 5 (Ci 19140).
Advanced Night Repair Prices and where to buy
As you can imagine, prices depend on the size, so check the links below to see the price at each retailer:
In Spain, UK and US:
In Mexico:
In Mexico prices are usually between the following range:
- 30 ml – $1,450.00
- 50 ml – $2,250.00
Now that we know what it is for and how much it costs, let’s analyze its effectiveness. The ANR has been among the best-selling products in cosmetics for years, which is quite a lot. But does his fame do him justice? Let’s put it to the test.
How is Advanced Night Repair Serum used?
After removing makeup well the skin, I apply eye contour, then this serum and above my night cream. So if you are wondering if you use moisturizer after Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, the answer is yes. Actually, you should always use moisturiser after you apply your serum. The reason is that even serums have powerful ingredients that help your skin long term, they don’t have the dense consistency that moisturisers have to add plump immediately.
The one I’m using right now is the Clarins Multi-Active Jour. In the link you have the review. Obviously you can use any other night cream you prefer.
Can I use Estee Lauder Night Repair every night?
Yes, you can. I do. I include Advanced Night Repair serum in my evening routine.
It is used at night only and as soon as you apply it you notice the skin softer and brighter, yes, without shine. But the best comes the next morning: the skin is smooth and the finest wrinkles are reduced.
A product that really acts on wrinkles? Well, it seems so. My first lines of expression are smile marks, and that’s right where I’ve noticed. Wrinkles around the mouth have always been one of my main skin concerns, and I look for products that work for that.
In the article on how to treat lip wrinkles I tell some tips on how to attenuate this type of expression lines.
Compared to other serums I’ve tried, like Farsáli’s Unicorn Essence, Origins’ Original Skin or La Roche Posay’s Vitamin C10 (the ultra-famous vitamin C), Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair serum is, in my opinion, the best.
Application of the Advanced Night Repair Serum
This serum is supposed to have no smell. It seems to me that it has a very mild smell, like citrus. The texture is not oily or leaves shine of any kind. It is absorbed ipso facto. I have combination skin, to give you an idea, and it does not generate shine or dryness.
As a novelty (at least for me, because I had not seen it before) it has a curved applicator that helps to get the most out of the product. A small detail that shows how premium the product is.
Fun facts
- The Advanced Night Repair serum was launched on the market in 1982, (yes, it is over 40 years olds now!), and remains a market leader.
- According to Estée Lauder, 9 bottles of Advance Night Repair are supposed to be sold per minute in the world.
My review of Estée Lauder’s Advance Night Repair Serum
I love it. You know that I only speak well of a product when I really like it, and the truth is that it deserves it.
I notice the luminous skin, as it is fuller and expression lines attenuated. Of all the products I have tried so far in cosmetics, I think I would place it among my favorites. The only downside, to put some, is that it can only be used at night and therefore I have to look for a different one to use during the day.
I wish I could show you a before and after photo of using the serum, but I did not expect the results to be so visible. If I had known, I would have taken pictures sooner.
My review about Estée Lauder
This isn’t the first Estée Lauder product I’ve tried. I tried Daywear and Nightwear creams and I liked them a lot too. My favourite lipstick is the Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy in the 120 Desirable shade and I really like the coverage of the Idole Teint Double Wear. This reminds me that I have so many product reviews to write!
If you want more information about this Estée Lauder serum , in this video I talk about it. It is the first product I talk about, so in the first seconds you will begin to see the opinion about the serum:
