Hello my darlings. Today’s post is not a review in any cream I have tried nor the latest craze in the beauty market. Today I bring you the results of my research on eye creams, trying to answer the question what is the best anti-dark circles eye cream on the market?
I feel pretty confident when it comes to not wearing makeup. In my day to day I prefer to wear it because it makes me happier, not because I need it. Also, when I wear the eyelash LVL, I can pass without makeup much more easily.
However, one of the things I notice most when I go with my face washed is the colour of my dark circles. Luckily, it is something that can be corrected in two seconds with a concealer, but I do not stop looking for cosmetics that can help me.
Therefore, this week I have dedicated myself to investigate dark circles: why they come out and above all , what is the best anti-dark circles cream on the market?
Why do dark circles come out and how can I remove them?
The dark or purple colour of dark circles is due to the fact that the veins in that area are more dilated. And being a skin as thin as it is the lower area of the eye, they are more visible.
In most cases, dark circles are an inherited feature. In fact, I myself have had dark circles since I was a little girl. This does not necessarily imply any health problems.
In addition to genetics, the following factors influence the appearance of dark circles:
- Stress. Circulation suffers, as oxygenation of blood vessels worsens.
- Poor diet and lack of water. Dehydrated skin is thinner and makes the capillaries more visible. For this it is necessary to drink enough water and avoid excess salt. We must also enhance foods that favor the production of collagen in the skin.
- Health problems such as anemia or others related to the blood system.
The best anti-dark circles cream and bags
No one should look for an anti-dark circles cream and bags at the same time. Why? Because they are different problems and need different solutions.
As we mentioned before, dark circles are when we have a darker area on the skin, and the origin is in the circulatory system. The under eye bags, or puffy eyes, on the other hand, are when the lower area of the eye swells and there is some bulging. This has nothing to do with blood but with skin.
For this reason, in this post we are going to focus only on anti-dark circles creams. Perhaps another day we will talk about bags. We should not confuse dark circles with eye bags. An effective anti-dark circles cream may not be effective for bags and vice versa.

What is the best anti-dark circles eye creams on the market?
Once we have adopted healthy lifestyle habits, we can pass the cosmetics and try to find the best anti-dark circles cream.
My goal was to find the best eye contour according to dermatologists. As you know, I like to get away from the marketing of products and how they sell them to really understand what ingredients are used, how they work on our skin and therefore, which ones are best for us. I’m not saying that products with more marketing are a scam. Not at all. Only that we must learn to value cosmetics more for their ingredients and the use for which they are intended.
To do this, the first thing I did was look at the Organization of Consumers and Users, because there they usually have product comparisons and seem quite independent. But at the moment it seems that there is nothing for the best anti-dark circles cream in the OCU.
I kept looking for someone who had tried products to really find an anti-dark circles cream that works. I was looking at other websites and it was difficult for me to find one where they tried several and decided which was the best. However, after comparing on several websites, I have seen that there are some brands that are repeated, so they could be the best.
Of course, I have not found any that is specific only anti-dark circles. They all put them in the category of dark circles and bags, which is not the same, but good. So I have been reading in each case what each one is supposed to do to make sure that it fulfills its antiojeril purpose.
Before starting, remember that anti-dark circles creams should be used on clean face, and before applying the serum and moisturizer. We can do this both in our day and night routine.
6. Ginzing Eye Cream by Origins
Within my top 5 we have in fifth place this eye contour of Origins instantly reduces the dark circles of the next day, bags and puffiness. It’s formulated with coffee beans, magnolia extract ginseng and naturally sourced skin whiteners, so you don’t have to use as much dark circles concealer. Wake up, refresh and illuminate the tired look, instantly.
You know that I really like the Origins brand because it produces cosmetics of natural origin but without losing effectiveness. The truth is that this is one of the things I sometimes miss in natural cosmetics.
5. Caffeinated Eye Contour Serum from The Ordinary
The Ordinary is sweeping everywhere. In addition to their super famous glycolic acid serum and hyaluronic acid moisturizer, they have this very effective little gem to give energy to the eyes with bags.
This serum is applied like a normal eye contour cream, but it is actually a serum. It is not necessary to apply cream in addition to the serum, unlike as we would with the facial serum.
This lightweight serum contains a high concentration (5%) caffeine and a purified form of epigallocatechin gallate glycoside (EGCG) from green tea leaves.
4. Anti-wrinkle eye contour cream from Nezeni Cosmetics
This is an eye contour that fights against one of the most frequent concerns in the eye area: wrinkles. It is specific for skins over 30 years, and also have the version for more than 40. I have only tried the version for 30.
What this cream does is stimulate the production of collagen, which as you know is one of the keys to fighting against the signs of aging.
In addition to that it has an anti-fatigue effect and reduction of bags and dark circles.
3. PHYSIOLIFT eyes by Avène Anti-dark circles cream
What I like most about Avène (and pharmacy products in general) is using more skin-friendly ingredients than perfumery brands.
The Physiolift eye contour in particular is indicated for skin over 35 years old and is also designed to reduce wrinkles. It does not contain perfumes and is tested on sensitive skin.
Its little sister is Avène’s soothing eye cream, which moisturizes, but has no anti-aging effects. I recommend it only for younger skin.
2. Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Gel-Cream
In number 2 we have the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Gel-Cream. I love the gel version of this eye cream and is actually one of my favourite products of all time. That’s why the eye contour is a top seller is not surprising either. The Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Gel-Cream is not really a cream, it has a gel texture, but it is used in the same way: I apply it to the eye contour area, as a complement to my moisturizer and other products.
Here’s the review of Estée Lauder’s wonderful Advanced Night Repair serum.
This eye contour serum is ophthalmologically and dermatologically tested and fragrance-free.
1. Clinique All About Eyes Anti-Dark Circles Cream
We reached number 1! The All About Eyes is part of a Clinique lineup that is relatively new but has already earned fantastic reviews. It uses non-comedogenic and antiallergic ingredients. This eye contour moisturizes the skin, although it is not specifically intended to treat fine lines in the eyes.
This cream is supposed to serve to increase the natural production of collagen in the skin. Do you remember what we achieved with this? That the skin is strengthened and thickened. This makes the capillaries less visible. Yes, exactly what makes dark circles appear on the first place.
What I use right now for the eye contour
I recently reviewed the cream I’m currently using for the eye contour. It is a very light, moisturizing cream. If you want to read my opinion after trying it, it is here: My Opinion on the Eye Contour of Énergie de Vie de Lancôme. It is not in my top 5 of best anti-dark circles creams on the market, but you may be interested, depending on what you are looking for.
Another one I’ve tried lately is Avène’s soothing eye contour. It is not as powerful as the Phisiolift I was talking about in my top 5, but it’s fine if you want quality care but not very expensive.
As I always say, I don’t think there are categorically good or bad products. There are products for different needs that can go better or worse.
How to apply the eye contour?
In this video I explain what steps to follow to apply the different products of our facial routine. Among them the eye contour:
