Hello everyone! This week I’m going to talk about the best products for bleached hair. I have been bleaching my hair for some time, almost 5 years, and during this period I have tried endless products to take care of it.
Over time I have learned what different products can do and I have finally managed to gather a collection of the very best ones. I’m going to show you everything I use for hair care, both for washing and styling. I’m going to talk about shampoos, masks, heat protectants and serums.
Before starting to review my favorite products: do you know how to maintain and properly take care of bleached hair? It is super important to pamper your hair as it deserves in this fragile situation, so I recommend that you read this article too about how to care for bleached hair.
Shampoos and mask for bleached hair
This shampoo and mask are my basics for bleached hair care. At the moment, I only use the Absolut Repair Lipidium reconstructive shampoo and mask, but L’Oréal has a complete collection that includes conditioner, pre-shampoo and several serums, among others, and they sure work very well too.
In addition to this line, I have tried others from L’Oréal for bleached or damaged hair, as you will see below. But focusing on Absolut Repair Lipidium, I noticed an important difference compared to other products I had used before, especially the mask.
1. L’Oréal Professionel Absolut Repair Lipidium Reconstructive Shampoo
The shampoo leaves the hair nourished and reduces the “chewy” or rough feeling of badly damaged hair. They have changed the packaging, but the product is the same:
2. L’Oréal Professionel Absolut Repair Lipidium Mask
For me, this hair mask after bleaching is absolutely critical. I let it act as much as I can and when I rinse it my hair feels much softer and nourished.
The Absolut Repair Lipidum was recommended to me in a hairdressing products sales lady who sells products to professionals. It was the first time I tried L’Oréal Professionnel products.
In any case, if you have bleached hair I recommend that you go beyond softeners and conditioners and that you use masks directly in each wash. Not just once a week!
Of course, every hair is different, but bleaching usually affects everyone equally, leaving them weak, dry and brittle. Conditioners do not have formulas dense and powerful enough to really recover damaged hair. Only masks work in these cases.
2. L’Oréal Professionnel Silver Shampoo
The L’Oréal Professionnel Silver Shampoo you see here is the best kept secret for bleached hair. The Holy Grail of shampoos for hair with yellowish hues. In the link I have put the complete review of the product and how violet shampoos should be used in general, to be effective.
The point is that all hair that has gone through bleaching tends to end up with a very unflattering yellowish or orange tone, especially whe tone is not applied after bleaching. What this shampoo does is reduce the yellow tone of the hair leaving it more ashy. The finish is very nice, and manages to give nuance without damaging both the hair and a dye. What I will tell you is that for me, the result after applying this shampoo is beautiful. Of course, I usually do not use it more than 2 or 3 times between each bleaching, since abusing it could make the hair too gray. Although if that’s precisely what you’re looking for, you can also use it more often. It doesn’t have the same effect on a hair, say, dark blonde, as white or platinum.

3. Other shampoos for bleached hair from L’Oréal
I have tried other ranges similar to the Absolut Repair Lipidium, also from L’Oréal, which also work well.
One is for example the Nutrifier from Coco Oil, which is a line for damaged hair based on more or less natural ingredients. Here’s my detailed review of L’Oréal Professionnel’s Coconut Oil Nutrifier shampoo and conditioner.
Then I also used the Pro Fiber Reconstruct. This one was recommended to me at the hairdresser I go to, and I bought it directly there. I was told it was special for very damaged hair, like mine that is bleached.
Finally I also tried the Vitamino Color. Here you can read my review of the shampoo and conditioner Vitamino Color after trying them. This is a range that L’Oréal has to protect dyed hair or with highlights. But it focuses more on protecting hair color than repairing, compared to the others.
In the links you have the reviews I have done about each product. What they all have in common is that they are specific professional products for seriously damaged and damaged hair. That is, hair that has gone through a process of hair bleaching.
heat protectants
Smooth and Straight Spray de GHD
After washing my hair, I comb it to detangle it. I usually let it air dry for a while and then I go on to do a quick brushing so that it is a polished result. To protect the hair from the heat of the dryer I apply the heat protectant all over the hair and then divide it into sections to dry it.
This is just one of the heat protectants I’ve used. Obviously, you can use the one that best suits you. In this post I review two GHD heat protectants.
Bleached hair serum
Dream Long Serum from Elvive
Once I have finished the brushing I apply the serum, which in addition to giving a pleasant feeling of softness immediately makes the hair shine. On top it smells great.
If you have very damaged hair from bleaching, I recommend that you let it air dry, and when it is 80%-90% dry and use the dryer, irons or tongs.
This serum from Elvive I apply it to the hair once dry and combed with the dryer, iron or tong. Whatever you’re using that day. What this serum will achieve is to avoid frizz. And believe me, I live in the United Kingdom and here there is a lot of humidity and you can tell the difference when you use it. It does not frizz that much. It will also bring more shine and nutrition to the hair instantly.
Using a serum or oil is one of the best treatments for bleached hair, as it’s like applying a moisturizer to your dry or damaged hair. Keeping hair nourished is the best way to prevent split ends.
Please remember that serums should always be used at the end of the hairstyle, because if you use them before the heat tools, the hair could be, “fried”, literally.
In general, I think it’s a little gem of a product. For very little money it works as well or better than others of more expensive brands.

Tips for bleached hair
Between washes I also try to take care of the hair as much as possible, as we saw in the post How to care for hair with bleaching.
In the photo above you will see that I wear platinum blonde hair, bleaching every 3 or 4 weeks from the root. If I hadn’t followed these tips, I wouldn’t have been able to wear it so bleached for so long.
Follow these steps and use only the best bleached hair products and your hair will stay healthy despite the damage. It is the only way to look a pretty blonde for a long time.
